The multi-awarded impact startup Plastic2Beans is working international partners to build local recycling systems in Ethiopia and counteract the growing amount of single-use PET plastic. To finance the mission the brand exports directly traded organic coffee under the IMPACT COFFEE brand. At DIO I developed the branding, packaging design and product name for the coffee brand that loudly communicates the product's positive effect on the environment, as well as the company's unique mission.

Truly sustainable packaging solution
The packaging uses a dual system: lightweight, recyclable mono plastic bags for postal delivery and reusable glass bottles sold within 350km of a packaging facility, which can be redeemed in the German deposit (Mehrweg) system.
Successfull nationwide supermarket listing
Since market launch in 2019, ImpactCoffee is now listed in dozens of supermarkets such as REWE or Edeka and sold at national coffee chains such as Tchibo. It is also sold at the brands own coffee shops in the Cologne region.
